New York City / Art 3801

My classmates from the Art Department and I at Mississippi State University visited
New York in October 2024 to study art and design in the field.

The course was led by our professors: Aubrey Pohl and Catherine  Jones.

The trip included office visits to Gensler and Pentagram, where we met with Mississippi State alumni.
We also visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, and several galleries.
Throughout the trip, we were given only one assignment for the course—
to fill our handmade sketchbooks with ideas, reflections, and moments.

My most significant contribution to our group exhibition was organizing the flyer shown below, designed at 11x17 inches.
I asked my classmates to share materials, and I arranged the layout so that everyone who wanted to be involved in the
poster-making process was included.
Sunny Walters contributed the apple and pigeon graphic, while Adrian provided the background photo,
which he captured on 35mm film.
The course culminated in a one-night-only exhibition held at the Howell Metal Shop on campus.
